OUR TEAM
Lindsey started her career as a staff accountant with a local CPA firm specializing in services to Credit Unions. There, her attention to detail and comprehensive understanding of regulations stood out in audit engagements and led her to a position as Chief Financial Officer in one of her Credit Union clients. After leaving the credit union, she ran her own small business accounting and consulting firm where she served as a consultant and outsourced CFO for many small businesses providing accounting, tax, and financial services which included loan packaging and loan term negotiation. When one of her clients planned to expand their business nationwide, she spent several years as their CFO assisting them in implementing their growth strategy and managing the accounting and finance operations in multiple states with a dozen offices and over a hundred employees and thousands of independent contractors. Nine years ago, she decided to focus on government guaranteed lending when the CDC where she served on the Board made an aggressive growth plan. Lindsey spent the next several years originating, underwriting, packaging and servicing SBA 504 loans as well as coordinating with other lenders for borrowers who had financing needs that were not eligible for the SBA 504 program. Over five years ago, her work in this area led to an introduction to the team that now operates under the platform of Madison One. Since that time, she has worked in different capacities with the same team and now manages the Lender Service operations out of an office in Florence, South Carolina. Lindsey is a graduate of Chapman University in Orange, California, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, major in Accounting. Laura Taylor was excited to join M1LS as a Commercial Packaging Coordinator, but it was almost like coming home because she had worked with a couple of us almost 10 years ago. Laura brings 30+ years of banking experience, starting as an assistant to an Area Manager where she got exposed to Corporate Banking, Trust, Private Banking, and Mortgage. It was in this position where she discovered her love of loans and jumped at an opportunity to join Corporate Banking. She spent many years in Corporate, Small, and Middle-Market Banking, Corporate/Syndications, and Agricultural Banking, but Small Banking was her favorite because it was there she felt she could make a difference. This led Laura to begin her 20+ years of SBA experience, working at a CDC for many years as a Closing Officer in Central Indiana. She then joined a Lender Service Provider as a Closing Officer and found her true love of learning all about the SBA 7(a) programs, doing those countrywide for a couple of years before going back to a bank. One of her more interesting experiences was working with the FDIC for whom she audit 500+ SBA files. Although she did stay long in this position, she did go on to work with another LSP doing SBA loans countrywide. However, the draw of setting up SBA departments for banks kept pulling her in and she has helped set up several successful offices in central Indiana, one of which was successful in going nationwide. Laura enjoys working with her loan officers, credit teams, packagers, closers, and servicing teams to help make a difference for her internal and external clients. Laura has a Bachelor of Science in Business Education and Office Administration from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, where she was welcomed into the Beta Gamma Delta Business Honor Society.
